My son has been training year round at the High Performance Academy at Nassau Tennis Center since 2009. It has helped improve his skill level », athleticism, confidence and understanding of the game, I highly recommend this program for serious junior tennis players.
My son has been taking private lessons once a week with the director of the center, Marc Hill, and has been playing competitive sets with other coaches. In addition, he goes to 2 or 3 group lessons a week. The private lessons focus on skill development and the group lessons are a combination of drills and match play. The group lessons attract some of the best players in the area and are a good forum to practice skills learnt in the private lesson and compete with good players. In the summer, there is an all day camp that concentrates on match play.
Marc is very knowledgeable about the game and has been a great teacher for my son. He also runs a very focused and disciplined program that emphasizes tennis fundamentals and hard work. All the coaches are on the same page and the kids get a consistent message.
Nassau High Performance is unique in the Princeton area for its focus on conditioning, strength training and attention to detail » on stroke development for juniors. The coaches inspire a high level of rigor and discipline in tennis training that I’ve seen really translate to effort and focus on the tennis court.
My son has learned the importance of working hard and never giving less than 100 percent. » His improvement in conditioning, footwork, technique and attitude at Nassau has led to successful tournament results. We drive a great distance but feel it is well worth it.
The academy is the best alternative in the area for the competitive kids to practice. »The program offers very good training combined with competitive environment. Training is intense and well structured.
Coaches are totally dedicated to players’ development and improvement. » In addition, they are very personable and players enjoy coming to practices. There’s a great team spirit and players work together and encourage each other. Facilities are brand new and well kept. Marc Hill rocks!
